There’s something particularly charming about the history suggested by this unusual antique ring. A simple 9ct yellow gold band has been adapted with a colourful row of mixed gemstones measuring 12mm in length, creating a wonderfully eclectic little cluster across the front. The stones vary from approximately 1 to 3mm and include vivid green, deep pink-red, bright white and blue-green tones, with the contrasting settings and tiny gold claws adding to its character. The slightly rosy warmth of the aged yellow gold is especially lovely, while the variation in colour and stone size gives the ring a distinctly individual feel. It has the appearance of a piece that has been remodelled or given a second life, although the original source of the gemstone section cannot be confirmed.

The stones include:

• turquoise (half chipped)
• rose cut diamond
• ruby
• cabochon opal (slight fractured)
• pink topaz

Fun fact: Reusing older jewellery in new forms has a long history. Antique and inherited stones have frequently been removed from older pieces and reset into rings or other jewellery when fashions or personal circumstances changed. Even today, jewellers describe transforming old brooches and rings into entirely new pieces as a way of preserving the materials and sentimental history of the original jewellery.

More specs below:

• 9ct antique yellow gold
• the setting measures 12x3mm
• each stone measure between 1mm and 3mm in diameter
• the band width is 2.5mm at the narrowest point

Overall, the ring is in good condition with signs of wear.

FAQs

Do you offer resizing or alterations?

I'm afraid due to lack of resources, I cannot offer any ring resizing or alterations at the moment, but I do recommend to my clients to reach out to their local jeweller for a quote on how much they would charge.

What condition are these pieces in?

All of my items are solid gold and are either modern, retro (over 20 years old), vintage (over 40 years old), or antique (over 100 years old) but they're all preloved/secondhand. Signs of wear and imperfections are more than likely (but isn't that just the joy of preloved and old jewellery?) so please make sure to double-check product information before purchasing to avoid any disappointment.

How do I know the metal purity is accurate?

All metal purities listed (e.g. 9ct, 18ct) are based on visible hallmarks present on the items. Where hallmarks are unclear or absent, this will be stated in the listing (e.g. tested for 9ct gold). All my items are solid – no plated or vermeil here!

How will my item be packaged and shipped?

All pieces are carefully packaged in a little white box with a gold string bow; for UK customers I send via Royal Mail Special Delivery to ensure they arrive promptly. For international customers, the same applies, and the delivery service is calculated at checkout. Items will be insured as per delivery service default limit.

What is your returns policy?

We want you to love your purchase. If you're not completely happy, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your item. As all pieces are one-of-a-kind antiques, we cannot offer exchanges, but we will do our best to resolve any issues.
