This adorable little cherub is something special – set in solid 9ct yellow gold, this ring is made using a ceramic Jasperware plate of Cupid, made by Wedgwood himself. As we all are aware, Cupid is the Roman god of love – the scene in the ring depict a baby Cupid digging, possibly cultivating love.
Fun fact: Jasperware was invented by Josiah Wedgwood – an English potter – in 1774. It's a type of fine, unglazed, matte stoneware that feature neoclassical relief decorations in contrasting colours (most commonly white applied on top of the iconic "Wedgwood blue" background). While Wedgwood wouldn't create the rings himself, he would hand paint the figure on the ceramic plate in white and then sell them to jewellers to work their magic making rings, brooches, etc.
Wedgwood was a big fan of neoclassical design, deriving many of his designs from Greek and Roman antiquities, often inspired by excavations of the time like the finding of various artefacts from the Herculaneum in 1759.
Fully hallmarked JW (Josiah Wedgwood) 375 London A for 1975.
Another one-of-a-kind so grab him if you can!
• the band width is 1mm at the narrowest point
• the ring weighs a nice 3.4g
• the ceramic plate measures 14mm in diameter
Overall, the ring is in excellent condition and wears very comfortably.

FAQs
Do you offer resizing or alterations?
I'm afraid due to lack of resources, I cannot offer any ring resizing or alterations at the moment, but I do recommend to my clients to reach out to their local jeweller for a quote on how much they would charge.
What condition are these pieces in?
All of my items are solid gold and are either modern, retro (over 20 years old), vintage (over 40 years old), or antique (over 100 years old) but they're all preloved/secondhand. Signs of wear and imperfections are more than likely (but isn't that just the joy of preloved and old jewellery?) so please make sure to double-check product information before purchasing to avoid any disappointment.
How do I know the metal purity is accurate?
All metal purities listed (e.g. 9ct, 18ct) are based on visible hallmarks present on the items. Where hallmarks are unclear or absent, this will be stated in the listing (e.g. tested for 9ct gold). All my items are solid – no plated or vermeil here!
How will my item be packaged and shipped?
All pieces are carefully packaged in a little white box with a gold string bow; for UK customers I send via Royal Mail Special Delivery to ensure they arrive promptly. For international customers, the same applies, and the delivery service is calculated at checkout. Items will be insured as per delivery service default limit.
What is your returns policy?
We want you to love your purchase. If you're not completely happy, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your item. As all pieces are one-of-a-kind antiques, we cannot offer exchanges, but we will do our best to resolve any issues.
